TUSA RS-520  06 January 09 16:25
With a price tag of less than £170, the RS-520 represents excellent value and is certainly not let down by its performance.
Tigullio T52 Airtrak Plus  06 January 09 14:08
Despite its enormous size and weight and rather old-fashioned looks, the T52 gave a decent performance - one of the best of the bunch.
Seemann Sub SL350-35TX  06 January 09 13:57
This regulator is made in the same factory as the Northern Diver Jupiter, so it unsurprisingly behaved very similarly - although we did like the addition of the swivel on the second stage, which makes it really comfortable when moving your head around.
Seac Sub D-Synchro Ice   06 January 09 13:41
Not a bad valve, but not great either. It was almost impossible to breathe from when inverted and generally felt a bit clunky.
Scubapro MK17/R395  06 January 09 13:29
This reg's good overall performance was hindered slightly when it was orientated upside down.
Northern Diver Jupiter  06 January 09 13:11
Northern Diver has gone for a superb value package with this valve, which includes an octopus, a submersible pressure gauge, first-year service kit and even a trendy rigid carry-case.
Mares MR12 Prestige  06 January 09 12:55
In the horizontal position, this one of the smoothest regulators of all those on test here.
Beuchat VX80 Iceberg  06 January 09 12:32
A consistent performance for most of the time, it was a let-down when we tried to use it upside down.
Aqua Lung Calypso  06 January 09 12:10
This is a modern version of the classic Calypso valve, which has been the workhorse for many clubs and schools for decades.
Cressi-sub Ellipse Steel/MC5  06 January 09 11:26
With a beautifully lightweight second stage that is smooth to breathe through, you would expect the Ellipse to cost a great deal more than it actually does.
